Compression socks that you'll actually keep wearing

TrueFit is a knee-high, 20–30 mmHg graduated compression sock designed around the one thing that makes people give up on compression: the band at the top.

What graduated compression actually does

Blood travels down to your feet easily — gravity does the work. Getting it back up to your heart is the hard part, and it relies on your calf muscles squeezing veins as you move. Sit still at a desk, stand still behind a counter or sit strapped into a plane seat and that pump stops working. Fluid settles around the ankle, the leg feels heavy, and by mid-afternoon your shoes feel a size too small.

Graduated compression replaces some of that missing muscle action. TrueFit applies its firmest pressure at the ankle — roughly 20–30 mmHg — then eases to about 12–16 mmHg through the calf and 8–10 mmHg at the top. That descending gradient nudges blood and lymph upward instead of letting it pool. A flat-knit sport sock that squeezes evenly all the way up does not do this, however tight it feels.

The wide comfort strap is the difference

Almost every complaint about compression socks is the same: the narrow elastic band at the top cuts in, leaves a red ring, and by lunchtime feels like a tourniquet. It happens because a thin band has to generate all of its holding force across a couple of centimetres of skin.

TrueFit finishes in a wide comfort strap instead. Spreading the same holding force across a broader area means the sock stays up all day without denting your calf — which is why the most common review we get is not about swelling at all, it is "no more red marks".

Compression sock questions

What compression level are TrueFit socks?

TrueFit uses graduated compression that measures roughly 20–30 mmHg at the ankle, easing to 12–16 mmHg at the calf and 8–10 mmHg at the top. That is the everyday range most people are recommended for tired, achy or mildly swollen legs, and it does not require a prescription.

How do I choose between S/M and L/XL?

Pick by shoe size first: S/M fits women's 5–9.5 and men's 4–8.5, L/XL fits women's 10–13 and men's 9–13. If your calf measures above 16 inches at its widest point, size up to L/XL for the wide comfort strap to sit flat.

How long should I wear compression socks each day?

Most people put them on in the morning and take them off at bedtime. Start with 4–6 hours for the first two days if you have never worn compression before, then build up to a full day. Do not sleep in them unless your clinician tells you to.

Will the top band leave marks or cut off circulation?

No. Ordinary compression socks finish in a narrow elastic band that behaves like a tourniquet. TrueFit finishes in a wide comfort strap that spreads pressure over a broader area, so it holds the sock up without denting your calf.
